Color #52Ancestor 52 Weeks

Color is what brings out the light of life that God Almighty has created.  I was thinking about color. The different shades and tones what beauty that comes from. Humanity and nature are full of living color.

I was looking at my DNA results.  I'm was thinking about the different nationalities in my family connections. What a beautiful DNA match up! I have a rich heritage.

Ancestry.com has me as...
20% Ivory Coast/Ghana 
18% Cameroon/Congo 
13% Nigeria 
13% Senegal 
12% Great Britain 
7% Europe West
       Others

On myhertiage.com
I have 1.3% of Ashkenazi Jewish

On 23and Me
I have 0.9 % of East Asian & Native American

I've been discovering more DNA cousins. They are from different nationalities. What a beautiful family are we! I looked at photos of some my cousins that I've found on facebook. There are some cousins with blue eyes and blonde hair. There are cousins seeking to know more on their Native Americans lineage and some their African Americans lineage.

The different shades of color is amazing. The styles and shapes create beauty. We have texture with how we represent ourselves. We are all created in God's image. We are beautiful and colorful. Amen!

Travel #52Ancestors 52 Weeks

I was thinking about my Grandfather, John Blakey / Blakley Sr.  ~ July 10, 2018 marked the 100th year since his passing. I wondered. How did my ancestors traveled back in the days?

My Grandfather, John was born in Woodville, Mississippi on June 21, 1871. His father, Private Isaac Blakey MS Union Veteran and his mother was Martha (Scott) Blakey. Martha passed when John was an infant.  John was the twin, Andrew who passed as baby.

Isaac married to Rachel Lephridge Jackson Blakey in July of 1873. He moved his family to Forest Green, Missouri around March of 1880. What a journey that must have been! Moving a family from Natchez, Mississippi to Chariton, County in Missouri.

I've found my Grandfather, John listed on the 1900 census in Carrollton, Missouri. His surname was  spelled  Blackedy / Blakely. I believe that was where he met and later married my Grandmother, Jennie Bartlett. They married in Excelsior Springs, Clay, Missouri in 1902. His surname was spelled Blakye. John and Jennie moved to St. Joseph, Missouri where a daughter passed in November of 1902.

I can only imagine how much traveling my Grandpa John went through. From 1871 - 1918.  John had made his way from his birth place of Woodville, MS,  and journeyed with his family throught Natchez, MS,  Forest Green, MO, Carrollton, MO, Excelsior Spring, MO and to St. Joseph, MO. He later made his way to Yankton, South Dakota where he passed  and was buried.

Why was John in South Dakota? John was preparing to bring his wife and children to Yankton. John was sick and grow sicker. He didn't make the journey back to Missouri. He passed in a covered wagon near his brother, Henry Blakey's home. John's widow and 7children remained in St. Joseph, Missouri.

I took the journey to Yankton, by car in late October of 1981 and July of 1985. The journey seemed as a long by car ride.  My  Grandfather and ancestors had it harder.  Oh, my!  The luxury of modern days has no match to the days of old. Our ancestors were tough.

God bless you.

Independence #52Ancestors 52 Weeks

I don't know of any ancestors who were in the Revolutionary War.  However, I have a 3rd Great Grandmother who was living at that time.  I wouldn't imagine that. She was about eleven in 1776.

My 3rd Great Grandmother was Hannah ? HOOPER. The only record I've found on her is the Carrollton Missouri 1880 census. She was listed as my 2nd Great Grandfather Elias' Grandmother.  Elias was listed with his 2nd wife Harriett and his 5 children.

The family surname was misspelled Barllett on the 1880 MO census.
The surname was Bartlett.
Sally Bartlett
Charles Bartlett
Lucy Bartlett
Elias Bartlett
William Bartlett

What I've learned for the 1880 census, Hannah was born in South Carolina around 1765. She was listed as black at 115 years old and an invalid.   Her father and mother were from Virginia. The year of Hannah's death is unknown. The census was taken on June 22, 1880.

I'm thankful that my 3rd Great Grandmother lived to be on the 1880 census. I wouldn't have never known who she was if she didn't live as long as she did. Hannah is the oldest ancestor that I have come across on my family connections search.

God bless you.

Black Sheep #52Ancestors 52 Weeks

I have a lot of relatives. Many I don't know about. Some know their family tree. While others are searching to find theirs. Some families don't know about the lost long relatives. I guess we call them the black sheep in the family. The relatives that people don't talk about. Are those the ones born out of wedlock?

As I'm coming across my DNA relatives, I'm coming across cousins, I didn't know about. Some of them know who their parent (s) are or were. And some I'm discovering who were adopted searching for their biological parents.

I don't see people as "Black Sheep". There shouldn't be no "black sheep" in the family. Family is family. We have our in laws and our out laws. The connections is still there through the off springs.

We should be some connections with family. We have our dislikes and our opinions. We have to learn to get along. Blood is thicker than water.

We are born into the family that God has chosen for us. We are not born by accident. God has a  plan for each of us. There are no black sheep relatives.  May we learn to love and live with one another.  For we are family. Family is important.

God bless you.

Going To The Chapel #52Ancestors 52 Weeks

As I was searching for marriage records on some of my ancestors, I had a time in finding some of them. And there are some I have not found yet. But, here are a few.

My Great Grandparents Isaac BLAKEY and Martha SCOTT were married on 13 Feb 1870  in Wilkinson County, Mississippi. However, on the index, they were listed as Isaac BAKER and Martha SCOTT.

My Grandparents, John BLAKEY / BLAKLEY and Jennie BARTLETT  were married on  28 Jul 1902  in Excelsior Springs, Clay, Missouri. On the index, they were listed as  John BLAKYE and Jennie BARTEL.

My Grandparents, Leo LANKFORD and Mary ALLEN were married on 16 Apr 1909 in Savannah, Andrew, Missouri. On the index, they were listed as Leo LAUKFORD and Mary WALTERS.

I was thinking about marriages  in my family connection,.I thought about some ancestors who remarried. Here are a few.

My Great Grandpa Isaac BLAKEY  became a widower in 1871. He married Rachel Ann  LFEWW on 3 July 1873 in Wilkinson County MS.  Rachel's maiden names is a mystery. There are record of her maiden name as LAFAYETTE, JACKSON and LEPHRIDGE. Isaac was listed with the surname BLAKER. One of the witnesses was John Jones. The marriage took place at Charles Marshall house. They were married by Rev Edward Kane.

My Grandmother, Jennie (BARTLETT) BLAKLEY married Chilton F LYLES a few years after her first husband John passed in July of 1918.  Jennie had twin daughters born in April of 1920.

My 2nd Great Grandfather, William / John WASHINGTON Sr. married his first wife Susan LEACH on  20 Sept 1866  in St. Joseph, Missouri. She passed on 9 Jan 1890. William married his 2nd wife, Mrs. Mahala  "Mahalie"  (HILL) WINN on 17 Dec 1890 in Buchanan, Missouri

My Great Grandmother, Anna Laura WASHINGTON married William  ALLEN on  6 March 1889 in St. Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri. Then she was a widow around 1890. She married Thornton WALTERS a few years later.

I've come across some Great Uncles and Great Aunts who were married more than once.  And I've made some discoveries. Here's a list.

Jordan BLAKEY was married 3 times.
Lizzie ?
Flora (LAWRENCE) BENTLEY, later divorced
Rubina A. Ruby HOLT

Archie BLAKEY was married 3 times.
Flora (LAWRENCE) BENTLEY BLAKEY, ex wife of Jordan BLAKEY
Geneva ?
Velma Mae CAMPBELL

Lawhorn BLAKEY was married 4 times
Mettie HOLLIDAY
Evelyn WILSON
Roberta ?
Inez Evelyn CAMPELL, sister of Velma Mae CAMPBELL

Edna Mae (BLAKEY) JACKSON MARION BENTLEY was married 3 times.
Dab JACKSON, later divorced
 Jay .C. Marion, later divorced
Richard BENTLEY

Relatives intermarriage
My mother's sister, Anna married my father's brother, Isaac. I had a cousin, Irene on my father's side married my mother's brother, Robert. Also I have cousins on my father's side marring cousins on my mother's side. This is confusing.

So Far Away #52Ancestors 52 Weeks

I wasn't for sure how to approach this theme.

What have I noticed by being so far away?
I started searching for my family connections with little information. And now I've gained  more than I've started. There's more out there. But, it seems so far away.

Where I lived is so far away from where some of my relatives lived.
New York, New York,  Denver Colorado, Sacramento, California, Portland, Oregon. St. Paul, Minnesota, Ann Harbor, Michigan.

How can I see so far away?
There were times when I could see things in a distant without knowing clues of some family connections. I connected the dots. I had to wait to see if what I saw was true.

Why do some things feel so far away?
Some times, I wonder why things appear so far away. There are things that could be so near to me. I can't see. My mind wonders. Is this so? The feeling at a lost and being so far away.

When and where will I see it?  It's so far away.
I figure, by now, I shouldn't be so uptight about what I can't see things. If I learn to wait, things will come in due time or not at all. I need to believe. I can't see everything I want.

So far away may not be, too far away.
If we ponder, being on the positive side of what we're seeking, things won't appear so far away. We have to learn to wait. So far away maybe. But, we shouldn't worry about the out come.

May we not think of things being so far away. May we believe in due season, those things so far away will be so close to us and so dear to us then we can imagine. May we not worry about things.

Thanks for reading.
God bless you.

Another Language #52Ancestors 52 Weeks

I'm not for sure if any of my ancestors took up another language.  I believe that the earlier generations had their native tongue. The ones who were brought to America.

Majority of my early ancestors were brought to America through the slave trade. The other ancestors were of European descents.

I do believe that my ancestors who came from Africa were intelligent people. The early ones had their native tongue. They had to learn English and adapt to the American culture.

I can only wonder if any of my ancestor spoke another language. I wondered if they taught their children. Oh, how that would have been.

During my schooling, I took up Spanish and French classes. It was interesting to learn another tongue. I don't remember bits and phrases of the languages.

I do have an heavenly language. I wasn't taught that. It was a gift for the Holy Spirit. I'm thankful that I can pray, speak and sing in the spirit.

Close Up #52Ancestors 52 Weeks: Memories Of The Past.

Week 18: Close Up

I was thinking about where some of my close up ancestors lived.  I didn't have to go too far. I'm reminded of a spot were I can stand and see where my relatives lived. I can imagine, how my relatives lived on these two blocks.

The photo of the sewer: The sewer was home plate when we played baseball. Many generations played ball from this spot. And it was well traveled place. Yes, into. We place this way on the way to the gravesite.

I heard that family reunions were held on the block. Family members from all around came during the Memorial Day weekend to celebrate my Grandpa Leo's birthday. Wow!

The blog below was from one of my other sites.
I posted it on Friday, 22 August 2008. It's been about 10 years. And I've added photos in this blog. (And there are some update added too.)

Yes, there is a place where I can go stand and see a part of my family history. I can look around and think-- Memories Of The Past. I can see  (where ) the ( properties) land and houses in our neighborhood (once stood. Majority of the homes are torn down. And) as I do this, (looking around,) I would think about some things. Things I've discovered through my family search.

I can (image and) see the place where my mother was born. Then, I can turn my head to the house where she passed. I can see the places where my Grandparents lived. (The photo what the car in it. The home of Leo and Mary in May of 1965.)

The area (was) where at least 5 generation grew up.

(I can imagine, this) I was standing on the block where (my family) history took place. There was much history here. I recall old photos that came back into my thinking. It brought "life" as I was looking at the vacant lots.

The areas where Grandma Mary, Grandpa Leo, and their children , my Uncle "Sam", Aunt Leola, Aunt Sarah Bell and Aunt "Jennie" used to live. This was less than a block away. They were neighbors with my parents too.

My mother's parents, Leo and Mary were born in the early and late 1880's. My parents, David and Lula were born in the teens and 1920. I came along in the early - mid 1960's. I could imagine how the difference in our up bringing could have been.

Three of the houses are torn down.( And other's followed.)  Still, I can see the imagines in my mind of what the outside of the houses looked like. I recall that time when the houses were torn down. (The photo on the right was the home of William and Leola. Other relatives lived in that house. My mother's mother, my parents, my uncles and aunts and cousins.)

I am discovering new things about my ancestors. ( I have the birth dates and death years of some of my relatives form these blocks.) I am glad that the past generations recorded some things. I am so glad that I have been coming across new information.

(Other my father's parents lived on the next block, at one time. My mother's grandparents lived not too far from the block as well. It was all in the family. Relatives didn't have to travel far in town to meet with one another. )

I even thought about our neighbors. There was one neighbor who has been went us as long as I can remember in the 70's. Mr. Mier passed away Jan of 2010. He was in an accident.

What a journey in time to see and been apart in our neighborhood.
How wonderful it is to be in the place where some of my ancestor lived. I can see that some of the same trees are still here when my ancestors were here. (There are trees I remember that were small in my childhood. Oh, how they have grown )

I am so thankful that I grew up in the area where my parents (and relatives) grew up. I am so thankful that I can share memories of the past. I am thankful that I can use my imagination to take a look at memories of the past.

(What a blessing!)

Cemetery #52Ancestors 52 Weeks Robert and Charlotta (DADE) Lankfard's Tombstone

During the 1990's, I was walking around Ashland cemetery in St. Joseph, Missouri. I was searching for my ancestors. I'm thankful that I came across some of my relatives resting place. Also, I was glad I had a camera with me.

As I looked at this tombstone above, what strike me was the spelling of the surname of LANKFARD! Wow! I was taught that the family surname was LANKFORD. There have been times that isn't was spelled LANGORD. It's a mystery about the original spelling.

Through the years, my Great Grandparents' tombstone has skunked into the ground. It's looks like it's in a hole. I've searched for other markers. Some I can't locate. It's sad.

I'm thankful that I captured some of the places where some of my relatives were buried. I can only image how back in the days. When generations after generations came to visit the place of our loved ones' resting place.

May we keep the memories of our relatives alive in our hearts.
May we take notes of our family history and pass it down for future generations.
May the LORD rise up family members to keep the family connections going.
Amen!

Robert Louis and Charlotta (DADE) LANKFORD / LANKFARD were once the in laws of Hattie McDaniel. Hattie was also known as Mrs.  Nymadula "Nym"  LANKFORD.

Storms #52Ancestors 52 Weeks

I couldn't find any storms on my family connections that I could write about. I can't think of anyone with a name with "storm" in nature. I was brainstorming on this topic.  What storms?

We all have storms during our journey throughout life. Our ancestors had struggles and hardship that they faced. And so do we in our daily life. Storms come and go. They can blow us away.  We have to be strong when the strong winds blows our way. When we fall, we have to get back up and do the best that we can.

I believe that my ancestors believe in God. I've read some of my ancestors stories. I imaged how the could have lived. They had to have some belief system. What they were taught to keep on going. They had hope for something.

Yes, we have to believe in someone. Praying that God to see us through. Life comes with all kinds of surprises. We need a strong foundation to stand on. That's the hope that keeps us going in life .

May the LORD help us face our storms of life.
Amen.

A Beautiful Snowy Lord's Day

Happy 3rd Sunday of Easter! We're half way through April! The weather won't make up her mind. I think, we have had all Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall this month. Last week was for all seasons.
We had snow last Sunday. And by Wednesday it was 79 degrees,  Thursday, it got up to 82 degrees. Though, it got up to about 83 on Friday, the storms came. Then, it started snowing on Saturday evening. And snow continued on Sunday. It looked weird with the green grass.

The Gathering:
It was a beautiful Lord's day. The snow didn't stop us from gathering as the church. It was nice to chat with some of the people.

The Message: From the Series: A Life That We Can Live

Taxes #52Ancestors 52 Weeks

I haven't explored the taxes records on my ancestors. I don't know where to search. Someday, I will explore the taxes. I think that it would be interesting to see what they recorded.

I have come across some of my ancestors who own land. There were some farmers. Some had businesses. Some owned their homes.  That was a blessings to know.

I wonder about my ancestors.
How did they live in their days?
Did any of any of my ancestors loss their land for not paying their taxes?
And for those who farmed the land, Did they have trouble keeping us the land?
For those who had businesses, when did they started? How did the business end!
Were there any land or businesses passed down through the generations?

Celebating The Life That God Has Given

What a beautiful Lord's Day! It's been a wonder day of celebrating my life. I'm thankful that God has placed people in my pathway to celebrate with me. God is so good! Thank You, Abba Father!

Church gathering was at 10 am.

"A Life That We Can Live" Message by Pastor Brian Zahnd
From the Series: A Life That We Can Live.

“Every bush is on fire with God. Every bush, every tree, every bird, every blade of grass, every grain of sand, even the innumerable stars are all on fire with the glory of God.” Brian Zahnd

Oh! LORD, help us tend to our souls. Teach us to slow down. Make us aware that wherever we go, we're on Holy ground. Lead us to that quiet place to where we can meet with you. Show us a life that we can live, day by day as we experience Your glory

Prayer for the week: April 8, 2018
Scripture for the week: John 20:19-31

Born Day Celebration
I enjoyed the last few hours before my birthday officially arrives 12 minutes before 10 am cst. I greeted for a little while. I had a good time. I made my way back to the Upper Room. That's where I entered into my New Year.  LORD, lead the way set before me!

I took the time to read all my birthday greetings and wishes on facebook. Thank You, Jesus! God bless them. How great a gift of life that You have given to me. It's a life worth living, to the glory to Your Holy Name.

Birthdays are special. We should honor them. There are people who don't. That's sad. Then there are people who have birthdays, who are sad. They don't have people to celebrate their life with them. That's sad.

I'm thankful that the Lord has placed people in my life. There were times when a few times whe people forget my birthday nor acknowledge my birthday. It's nice to be thought of and prayed for. Thank You, Father God for thinking of me at the foundation of the world.

Maiden Aunt #52Ancestors 52 Weeks

I searched to see if I had any maiden Aunt who lived to be of age.  I had one aunt who died as a teenager. Other then that, I couldn't find any maiden Aunts to journal about.  Our aunts are a part of the family. They are our parents siblings.

I've notice that some of my relatives who were married but didn't have children.  They were mother figures and father figures to their siblings children and grandchildren. Aunties and Uncles are special people.

On my father's side: His siblings: John  Jr , he had step children. Mary J. Richardson had two adopted daughters, and my father's brother, Paul had a stepson.

On my mother's side: Her siblings: Addison Lankfard's wife had children. Betty M. Weston had no children.  Uncle Ad and Aunt Betty left us with good memories.

Although, some of my aunts and uncles didn't have children, they were loved by many. As we live in life,t God brings us people to love on. Those without children can add to our lives. Indeed they can.

I think being maiden is a gift.  Not every one meant to be married. Not all will become parents. In all we all are apart of some one's life. We add to those in whom God places into our journey in life. May we learn be a blessing to others who cross paths in our lifetime. Amen.

Welcome To The Easter Season and the 2nd Quarter of 2018!

What an beautiful weekend! The Lenten Season ended on Holy Saturday. We're into the Easter Celebration. Enjoy! Happy April!

It's been a snowy Easter Sunday! I think we got about 3 inches of wet snow. It's cold, feeling like Winter time again. I will be below freezing over night.

It's been a wonderful Easter Sunday. I didn't think too much about April Fool's Day, today. For the past 18 years, the 1st Day of April has been different. It's not a day for joking nor to be fooled.

In Memory of my mother.

On Saturday, April 1, 2000, my mother fell asleep and entered into heaven in the arms of Jesus. We'll reunite again when the time comes.  It's been 18 years since her departure on that Census Day in the U.S.A. ~ My mother was counted on that census. She has left us a legacy. Her spirit still lives in the hearts of those who remember her. She's missed and never forgotten.

A Thought of God's Creation
I've been enjoying God's creation more this year. I took my time today and enjoyed the snow. We have experienced a White Easter Sunday. Five years ago, we had a white Palm Sunday. Would be something if we would have a white Good Friday? All God's creation is beautiful.

Easter Gathering as the church

Message "The Eighth Day" by Pastor Brian Zahnd
( It was a good message and a good The Last Week Series. )

The Prayer for the week and The scripture for the week: John 20: 1- 18

There were a lot of people during the gathering on this snowy day. The snow didn't stop people to come to the house of the LORD.

There was an Easter eggs hunt after church. Yes, in the snow. It was cold and windy. Some children did go for it. Others were given a bag so that didn't have to go outside to look for eggs.

I hope that all will have a wonderful 2nd quarter of 2018.
Enjoy the Easter Season.

May the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Romans 15:13

The Old Homestead #52Ancestors 52 Weeks

As I was growing up, I never thought of or heard of where my ancestors came from. But as I've come of age, I began to wonder. Where did my ancestors originally come from?

I have taken a DNA test. I discovered that I'm about 74 % African, and the other % are European and other regions. I'm thankful for my DNA.

The Family Homeland After 1865

On  My Father's Father's side
My ancestors came from Virginia area to settle and came back to Chariton and Howard Counties in Missouri. Most of the earlier ancestors choose to remain in the Forest Green, Missouri area. While some of their descendants moved Northward and Westward near the turning of the century 1900's.

 On My Mother's,  Mother's side.
My ancestors who came from Kentucky and Tennessee area  made their way to Buchanan County Missouri. Most settled in St. Joseph, Missouri area.  Some of their descendants  moved Northward and Westward through the years.

The Old Homestead is the place where our roots reunited. Our early ancestors traveled. Some where taken from their home land. They had to find a place where they could call home. They needed a resting place for the family.

It's good to go to the places where our ancestors once lived. To see the place where our history began. We as their descendants are living out the family history. We carry on what they have left off.

May we continue on the journey of our ancestors. May we leave a legacy for the next generation. May we see that what we do will impact the future.

Lucky #52Ancestors 52 Weeks

Lucky me.  I think that I've been lucky as I'm searching for my family connections. I haven't found any one who has the surname Lucky or with the nickname "Lucky."

I've notice some things as I'm searching over the years. I've been lucky enough to come across things out of nowhere. I've stumbled into things that I haven't thought about. Lucky I guess.

Indeed, I have had road blocks along my journey. I have hit brick walls. However there have been many occasions when I just got plain lucky. I'm blessed.

I'm thankful for all the people who have cross paths with me on my family connections journey. I have had strangers help me search for things. They lead me to information or gave me information.

I never thought that I would find out who owned my ancestors. If my Great Grandfather wasn't wounded during the Civil War. He lived to receive his pension.

I never thought I could see a slave ad of my ancestors. Thankful that someone knew where to search.  I have shared that ad with family connections.

I never thought I would contact a descendant who's ancestor was a former slave holder of my ancestors. That was interesting. Our Great Grandfathers knew each other.

There's so much that has come in my life. I believe that it comes for a reason. I can call it or it came by chance.  I'm lucky or not. However, I'm blessed. Either way,  it comes.

I hope you have good luck in searching your ancestors. There will come a time when luck will come your way. Keep searching. Don't give up.

Hope you  had a  Lucky Day
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

In The Act of Worshipping God

The 4th Sunday in Lent! What a Beautiful Lord's Day it is! I did enjoy it!

I had the honor to greet some of the people at Word of Life Church, this morning. Indeed, the children were excited to get to their classes. And it was wonderful to greet some of the group of teenagers from Iowa. Glory be to God on this  Daylight Saving Time  Spring Forward

I had no trouble with getting out of bed on this Daylight Saving Time Spring Forward day. I woke up before my alarm went out. Right now, I'm not tired. Nor am I sleepy. I feel Good! Like I know I should. ~ Living in the present

In The Act of Worshiping God.

The Last Week Series  Holy Wednesday Lent Message "A Royal Waste of Time" by Pastor Derek Vreeland This was a good message about what worship is.

We should worship God with all that we have in our being. His presence is everywhere. May we learn to acknowledge God wherever we go.  May we be in the act of worship that comes from the heart. May we waste ourselves on Jesus. ~  It's well worth the journey. ❤️

On The Journey With Jesus: Celebrating

What a beautiful start for the week! The last Sunday of February was wonderful! This is the day that the LORD has made, I've been rejoicing and being glad in it.

Church Life: The Sunday Gathering: The 2nd Sunday of Lent

Another Special Day: I'm a month away for my 35th Anniversary on the journey with Jesus. I've been celebrating as the days come to be. I'm learning a lot from life.

One thing I've notice on my journey, God has placed people in my life for a reason and for a season. And I've met so many beautiful people. Thank You, Jesus for being seen in the people in whom You speak through to me. Only You can do that. Glory be to God.

I had a wonderful time chatting with some of my friends during our church gathering this morning. Especially the ones who are preparing for their journey to Israel. I even received some prayer request. I'm praying.

It's a wonderful feeling to chat with friends. I'm thankful that they speak to me and not hurry on their way. Our conversations aren't' that long. I'm thankful for the conversations that encourage me. I hope that I do impart blessings to those come in my pathway.

The message " When The Whip Comes Down" by Pastor Brian Zahnd scripture  Mark 11:12-19
It was an interesting message. I heard some things that I haven't realized.
The fig leaves....Adam and Eve and Jesus and the figure tree.
The whip and the cattle being driven out by Jesus.

Prayer for the Week of Sunday, February 25,

God, whose glory it is always to have mercy: Be gracious to all who have gone astray from your ways, and bring them again with penitent hearts and steadfast faith to embrace and hold fast the unchangeable truth of your Word, Jesus Christ your Son; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. via Book of Common Prayer
Scripture for the Week of  Sunday, February 25  via Mark 11:12-19
On the following day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry. And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. And he said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.

And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. And he was teaching them and saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’?

But you have made it a den of robbers.” And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching. And when evening came they went out of the city.

Thanks for reading and praying.
God bless you.
