Sermon Nov of 2007

Those FALLEN angels, those false gods, demons in the spiritual realm.

Forget about them. The Battle is not your, it belongs to the LORD. Remember Your God. Sing to Him. Remember those three lessons that pastor preached on that day. Well...

Confess as you Sing Unto The LORD from Psalm 138:1 (NLT)
" I give you thanks, O LORD, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods."

What next? Apply the following...
The Three lessons: When Singing Before The Gods.

#1.  Sing when the odds are against you.

       (2 Chronicles 20:20-22 NLT)
Early the next morning the army of Judah went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. on the way Jehoshaphat stopped and said, "Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem!

Believe in the LORD your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.

After consulting the leaders of the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the LORD and praising him for his holy splendor. This what they sang: "Give thanks to the LORD; his faithful love endures forever!"

The lesson: The Atmosphere of praise created by songs releases angels to ambush the enemy.  (I add to my notes: Remember the LORD of Host has His army, His angles.)
#2.  Sing when your life is barren.

      (Isa 54:1)
"Sing, O childless woman! Break forth into loud and joyful song, O Jerusalem, even though you never gave birth to a child. For the woman who could bear no children now has more than all the other women," says the LORD.

The Lesson: Sing O barren and create a cradle of hope and God will fill that cradle with a miracle future.
#3.  Sing when your soul is in prison.

     (Act 16:23-26)
They were severely beaten, and then they were thrown into prison. The jailer was ordered to to make sure they didn't escape. So he took no chances but put them into the inner dungeon and clamped their feet in the stocks.

Around midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a great earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!

The Lesson: If you can sing through the pain in the midnight of the soul--God will not leave your soul in Sheol.
     Amen!

Needs Of Others

Reflections: Tuesday, 30 October 2007

  • Needs Of Others

From My Book Of Thanks:I am thankful that God knows what we need and gives us better than what we ask of Him. I am thankful that God uses others to encourage us. I am so thankful that God hears our prayers.

I am thankful that those who are of God, have God's Spirit within them. I am thankful that Jesus heals our bodies from all sicknesses and diseases. I am thankful that God restores emotions that have been damage.

I am thankful that God brings restoration to the broken hearted. I am thankful that God provides and gives us a way out of what we are going through. I am thankful that there is a Living God.

I am thankful that the LORD has blessed us with the blessing of COURAGE and that we can ask Him for the desires our hearts. I am thankful that Father God has granted His COVENANT Blessings to all of His children.
    I am thankful that...

Jesus, our Lord is always with us whether life is hectic or calm, but there is great value in taking time each day to walk the quiet road with Him.
    --David McCasland
There is a place of quiet rest, Near to the heart of God; A place where sin cannot molest, Near to the heart of God.
    --McAfee

Time spent with the Lord is always time well spent.

I AM A VISITOR

  • I AM A VISITOR

    WON'T YOU PLEASE:

...Smile at me as I walk in the door. You are my first impression of the church and this first impression will probably stay with me a long time.

....Help me find my place in the service. I will not find your help an intrusion, in face, I will remember your kindness.

...Notice me -even if I am not a "family". I don't want to feel invisible just because I am unmarried, single parent, a teenager, or an older person.

...Show me to coffee hour and introduce me to others there. I know you want to see your friends and settle that piece of committee business, but I may find it hard to believe that you truly care for each other unless I first see evidence that you care for the "stranger in your midst."

...Tell me good things about your church and your ministers. I want to believe that I have come  to a place where people love each other and where they believe that they are doing something exciting and important for the Lord.

...Talk to me again the second week when I come back, and the third and the forth. I may still not be a part of your congregational family.

..Invite me to become part of  your church activities. I need more than worship on Sunday. I needs to know that I am accepted and affirmed by a group of people within the church who know me by my first name and who care about me as an individual.

...If you can find it in your heart to do these things for me, I will come back....may be forever. I will become an involved member of your church and , in so doing, I will find my own life immeasurably enriched as a result of having become a member of your church.
