John: A Family Member

I'm thankful for my brother, John. He is the fifth born of nineteen.  He is  almost 79.

I'm thankful that John shares some of his life's stories with me. I have a notebook of The Stories We Tell.  At times, when John and I start talking; he begins to share. I say wait a minute, wait a minute, I got to get my book.

I'm thankful that John has a good memories. I asked him who were his teachers. He remembered all the names of his elementary school teachers. And he shared with me some of the stories  our mother told him when he was young.

I'm thankful for my family members.

Family

When I think of family, I think of my parents, siblings and etc.

I'm thankful for the couple in whom God choose to be my father, David and mother. Lula.
I'm thankful for the children that God choose to come out of my parents' union.
I'm thankful that I was my parents' last and 19th child. I wasn't born by accident.

I'm thankful that I had the honor to grow up around my parents and family.
I'm thankful that my Grandmother, Mary lived down the street.
I'm thankful that  some of my mother's siblings lived in the neighborhood.
I'm thankful for my uncles and aunts and their children.

Spouse / Significant Other : Week Two

I googled the definition of significant other.
"A person having importance in, or influence on, another's life."

I can relate to this definitions because I have no spouse.

That person would be Jesus Christ, the Son of God and my LORD.

I'm so thankful that Jesus came into my life when I was a teenager. I always call upon Him every day of my life well before I began attending regular  Sunday gatherings, when I was in my 30's . I continue to gather with the church on a weekly bases.

I don't know what I would do without Him. I have my eyes fixed on Jesus. I'm thankful that God keeps me in His watchful eyes. I pray that people will get to know Jesus as who He is.

LORD, save those who don't know You and continue to save all who know You as LORD and Savior.
We can't live life without You. In Jesus' Name Amen!

Why Start This Challenge Of Gratitude? Week One

I was searching throw some of my old papers. And I came across a sheet of paper with 52 Weeks Of Gratitude Challenge. I thought to myself: maybe I can use this On My Journey site. It will keep me active in journaling.

Why Start This Challenge Of Gratitude? It's good to have something to be thankful for and we should thank God daily for all the goodness and mercy that comes into our lives.

I'm thankful that I found this 52 weeks challenge. I have done this before I can't recall the year. Perhaps it was around 2015 or earlier. It was a challenge to do back then. Now I will see how my life has changed over the years. This is my second time around with these same journaling prompts.

NOTE:
I came back to start this entry on January 14, 2023.
I didn't want to miss out on the first week.
I hope to post the week two on January 14, 2023.

Thanks for reading.

Here's what I posted on January 7, 2023.

Into Another Year,  In Season

I still don't know what to use this site for.
I'm using my other blogger sites

I'm not much into poetry.
But, here is one I started.

Into another year, this season
Come bow, we're suppose to be

Shining forth from darkness
Walking into the light, let's see

Praising and worshipping
The everlasting King

Evening  through morning our hearts
In Him, we'll always to sing

He's our Salvations
From season to season
