Summer Time Coming Early

Yes, the heat is on. Summer time has arrived before her time comes.

Every day is a beautiful Lord's Day! Indeed I always rejoice and learn to be glad in it. It was a wonderful gathering with the church on Sunday. The Spirit of the LORD was with us and He's always is.

The joy of the LORD is my strength. Joy! Joy! JOY! And all this energy, where did it come from? Thank You, Jesus for leading the way. Lead me on.

Prayer for the week of May 27, 2018 and the Scripture for the week. John 3:1-17

In The Season of Pentecost

 Happy Birthday Church!

Sunday gathering:

One of the beautiful things that out of this day, WOLC welcomed believers into the community through water baptism. What a great joy to witness this on Pentecost Sunday.  I always go to the Upper Room before gathering with the church.

I chatted with some friends. Of coarse I had to bring up the hats that I seem during the Royal wedding Yes, I was up to witness the wedding. I'm glad that I did.

I'm a member of God's Royal Family through His Son Jesus Christ, my LORD, Savior and King. ~ I'm a daughter and a child of God Almighty.

Another Language #52Ancestors 52 Weeks

I'm not for sure if any of my ancestors took up another language.  I believe that the earlier generations had their native tongue. The ones who were brought to America.

Majority of my early ancestors were brought to America through the slave trade. The other ancestors were of European descents.

I do believe that my ancestors who came from Africa were intelligent people. The early ones had their native tongue. They had to learn English and adapt to the American culture.

I can only wonder if any of my ancestor spoke another language. I wondered if they taught their children. Oh, how that would have been.

During my schooling, I took up Spanish and French classes. It was interesting to learn another tongue. I don't remember bits and phrases of the languages.

I do have an heavenly language. I wasn't taught that. It was a gift for the Holy Spirit. I'm thankful that I can pray, speak and sing in the spirit.

God Bless you.

 Brian Zahnd

“Theological deconstruction/reconstruction often begins by doubting something. And not all doubt is bad because there are some theological ideas that you need to doubt.”  Brian Zahnd

After the gathering.
I made it home. I rested up and made my way to my sister's house. We had a small gathering.

Close Up #52Ancestors 52 Weeks: Memories Of The Past.

Week 18: Close Up

I was thinking about where some of my close up ancestors lived.  I didn't have to go too far. I'm reminded of a spot were I can stand and see where my relatives lived. I can imagine, how my relatives lived on these two blocks.

The photo of the sewer: The sewer was home plate when we played baseball. Many generations played ball from this spot. And it was well traveled place. Yes, into. We place this way on the way to the gravesite.

I heard that family reunions were held on the block. Family members from all around came during the Memorial Day weekend to celebrate my Grandpa Leo's birthday. Wow!

The blog below was from one of my other sites.
I posted it on Friday, 22 August 2008. It's been about 10 years. And I've added photos in this blog. (And there are some update added too.)

Yes, there is a place where I can go stand and see a part of my family history. I can look around and think-- Memories Of The Past. I can see  (where ) the ( properties) land and houses in our neighborhood (once stood. Majority of the homes are torn down. And) as I do this, (looking around,) I would think about some things. Things I've discovered through my family search.

I can (image and) see the place where my mother was born. Then, I can turn my head to the house where she passed. I can see the places where my Grandparents lived. (The photo what the car in it. The home of Leo and Mary in May of 1965.)

The area (was) where at least 5 generation grew up.

(I can imagine, this) I was standing on the block where (my family) history took place. There was much history here. I recall old photos that came back into my thinking. It brought "life" as I was looking at the vacant lots.

The areas where Grandma Mary, Grandpa Leo, and their children , my Uncle "Sam", Aunt Leola, Aunt Sarah Bell and Aunt "Jennie" used to live. This was less than a block away. They were neighbors with my parents too.

My mother's parents, Leo and Mary were born in the early and late 1880's. My parents, David and Lula were born in the teens and 1920. I came along in the early - mid 1960's. I could imagine how the difference in our up bringing could have been.

Three of the houses are torn down.( And other's followed.)  Still, I can see the imagines in my mind of what the outside of the houses looked like. I recall that time when the houses were torn down. (The photo on the right was the home of William and Leola. Other relatives lived in that house. My mother's mother, my parents, my uncles and aunts and cousins.)

I am discovering new things about my ancestors. ( I have the birth dates and death years of some of my relatives form these blocks.) I am glad that the past generations recorded some things. I am so glad that I have been coming across new information.

(Other my father's parents lived on the next block, at one time. My mother's grandparents lived not too far from the block as well. It was all in the family. Relatives didn't have to travel far in town to meet with one another. )

I even thought about our neighbors. There was one neighbor who has been went us as long as I can remember in the 70's. Mr. Mier passed away Jan of 2010. He was in an accident.

What a journey in time to see and been apart in our neighborhood.
How wonderful it is to be in the place where some of my ancestor lived. I can see that some of the same trees are still here when my ancestors were here. (There are trees I remember that were small in my childhood. Oh, how they have grown )

I am so thankful that I grew up in the area where my parents (and relatives) grew up. I am so thankful that I can share memories of the past. I am thankful that I can use my imagination to take a look at memories of the past.

(What a blessing!)
